Bluewaters Island Dubai, the artificial island on Jumeirah Beach, docked at the level of the leisure, residential and entertainment district Jumeirah Beach Residenz (JBR) is now waiting for the opening of Ain Dubai, the Eye of Dubai.
Bluewaters Island is an artificially created island. It is about 500 meters from the coastline, the beach. Exactly where the tall towers of the Jumeirah Beach Residence rise up on the beach, which make a significant contribution to the skyline on Jumeirah Beach. The project was approved in 2013 by the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. In 2018 the island was ready and opened to visitors.
The island is not that big. You can see it in the aerial photographs that exist of the small island.
The original name “Eye Dubai” no longer exists. The mega project is now called “Ain Dubai“. The height and width have also changed compared to the previous announcement: 250 meters instead of 210 meters.

‘Ayn’, Ain – is the 16th letter of the Arabic alphabet and is translated as ‘eye‘.
At 250 meters, the Ferris wheel, Ain Dubai, is higher than the High Roller in Las Vegas (168 meters), the Singapore Flyer (165 meters), the Star of Nanchang in China (160 meters) and the London Eye (135 meters).

The cheapest way to take part in a circumnavigation is the ride in the ‘observation cabins’. 1 circumnavigation = approx. 38 minutes. Adults: 130 AED (approx. 30 euros). Children between the ages of 3 and 12 pay 100 AED (approx. 23 euros).
